The program Oberwerk was written by Dr. Yves Petit-Clerc to create custom organs for the Hauptwerk 2 virtual pipe organ software available from Crumhorn Labs. Using Oberwerk is simple and intuitive and it a must have for anyone working with Hauptwerk 2+ who wants to quickly and easily create new customized organ files. One of the key features of Oberwerk is the "click and drop" feature to add stops to your organ. Users may create a new organ and have it playing within just minutes of learning the program's features. As an added bonus Oberwerk includes a massive library of pipe organ samples totaling 158 stops in all. These samples are the new and improved Compenius II replacing on the previous Compenius I organ sample set. Similar to the Compenius I, the Compenius II samples are mono and dry and are especially effective for use with a multiple audio output system which correlates with Hauptwerk and its ability to route to multiple audio channels. With Oberwerk 2 users have the choice to use the included Compenius II samples (.hbw encryption), or to use their own library of samples. Due to the size of the files Oberwerk is only offered on DVD-Rom. The Compenius 2 sample set may only be used with Hauptwerk version 2.1 or above with the dongle based licensing system.
